BOYS AND GIRLS UNIFORM

Slacks

Any Solid Color

Prohibited Torn, split, ripped, embellished or below the waist slacks

Jeans

Any Solid Color

 Prohibited Torn, split, ripped, embellished or below the waist jeans

Shirts

School Sponsored T-Shirts or Any Solid Color, Rounded Collar, T-Shirts

 Prohibited: Tank Tops, Muscle Shirts, Halter Tops, Spaghetti Straps, Exposed Backs, Midriffs, Low cut, V-neck,  off the shoulder or see through garments without a shell or shirt worn under the garment may not be worn by girls.  Boys may not wear muscle shirts or white undershirts.

Shorts and Skirts

Any Solid Color or Plaid

Shorts may not be more than 3 inches above the knee

Shoes

Tennis shoes recommended for the safety of the student.

Sandals with a strap around the heel may be worn; however they are not recommended because of PE activities.

Make-up

Prohibited including fake or sculptured nails,  tattoos and eyebrow designs.

Hair

Must be neat and clean.  Unconventional colors or hairstyles (e.g., mohawks, spiked hair, or designs) causing distractions are not permitted.

Bandanas, Hats, and Caps

Prohibited

Indecent/appropriate patches, writing, or drawing on clothing or body.

 Prohibited [clothing with inappropriate advertising or statements that are lewd, offensive, vulgar, obscene or inflammatory (e.g., alcoholic beverages, sex, tobacco, drugs, gangs, etc.)]

All oversized or tight fitting clothing

Prohibited (specifically, “bagging” or “sagging” pants and prohibited.  All pants are to be worn at the waist.  Tight fitting pants (e.g., tights, bicycle pants, or spandex) are also prohibited. 

Belts

Belts must be put through the belt loops on the pants and there use is encouraged. Extra long belts are prohibited. 

Earrings

Are Prohibited if they are dangling or large loops (Earrings present a safety hazard and may cause injury to the child.) Boys with earrings must have them covered daily.

Body Piercing Jewelry

Prohibited (including tongue rings, tongue studs, nose rings, and eyebrow piercing).

Gang-related Attire

Prohibited (no gang related attire will be permitted.  This attire will be designated by individual campuses). No black pants or slacks with black t-shirts.

Students shall be dressed and groomed in a manner that is clean and neat and that will not be a health or safety hazard to themselves or others.  The District [Board Policy FNCA (LOCAL)] prohibits any clothing or grooming that my cause disruption of or interference with classroom instruction.

A student whose clothing violates the dress code shall be assigned to in-school suspension either for the remainder of the day or until a parent or designee brings an acceptable change of clothing to the school.

Students who persistently violate dress and grooming standards may be subject to other disciplinary action, as specified in the Student Code of Conduct (See FO series).
